Friends and patrons of Springfield Hot Glass,
It's with mixed emotions I announce the closing of our studio/gallery. The final day of regular operation will be Monday, December 24. We plan to reopen for two weeks in January to sell any remaining merchandise, retail fixtures, etc. We'll announce the January open dates later.
Running a small glass art studio in downtown Springfield for the past fifteen years, working side-by-side with my son Gabriel and our dear friend Kathy McCormick, has been a great gift.
Now it's time for me to spend more time with my family and to explore other creative interests.
We're a glass art family. That won't change. Gabriel has taken a full-time glassblowing position beginning in 2019 so he can continue to pursue what he does so well. I've always loved being part of the local and regional art shows and don't want to give that up. After SHG closes, Kathy and I will be doing handmade torch work and fused glass so I can continue to see old friends in a new setting.
Many of you have become our great friends as well as valued patrons. We appreciate our connection with you more than we can say. Our shelves are full of the best work we've ever done, and we'll keep them stocked throughout the holiday season. We look forward to spending more time with you at Springfield Hot Glass in 2018.
